Thank you for filling the library with curiosity, imagination, laughter, and so many wonderful reading adventures. Every book you opened helped make this Summer Reading Program a soaring success!

If you haven't swooped by to collect your prizes yet, don't let them fly away! Stop by the library before August 9.

Owl About Books
Even though the OFPL Summer Reading Program has come to an end, Owlfred's adventures are far from over! 🎉

This month, Owlfred is celebrating his birthday by fluttering through the library in search of the best birthday-themed books. Along the way, he found stories filled with cakes, candles, parties, and plenty of birthday fun. His favorite was Happy Birthday, Mouse! After finishing the last page, Owlfred gave an excited hoot and said, "What a wonderful birthday story... but I think the library really needs a Happy Birthday, Owlfred book!"

His friends couldn't help but laugh as Owlfred imagined a story starring himself, complete with a towering birthday cake, colorful balloons, thoughtful friends, and, of course, a library full of books to celebrate with.

Birthdays are a wonderful reminder to celebrate the people we care about, make happy memories, and enjoy stories together. Whether you're celebrating your own special day or reading about someone else's, there's always a reason to open a great book and let your imagination take flight.

Stop by the library this month to discover some fun birthday stories, wish Owlfred a happy birthday, and snap a photo with our favorite owl to treasure the golden celebration.  🦉🎂

Meet Edward the giraffe, who is convinced his long, bendy neck is nothing but trouble! He tries everything he can think of to hide it, but nothing seems to work. When Edward meets a wise and witty turtle, he begins to see that the very thing he wants to change might actually be his greatest strength. Filled with laugh-out-loud humor, expressive illustrations, and a heartwarming message about self-acceptance, Giraffe Problems is a charming picture book that reminds readers of all ages that our differences are often what make us shine

The First Drawing
by: Mordicai Gerstein

What if you lived in a world before anyone had ever drawn a picture? The First Drawing by Mordicai Gerstein invites families to imagine life more than 30,000 years ago, when mammoths wandered by, caves were home, and the shapes of clouds and rocks sparked big ideas. With vibrant illustrations and a story full of wonder, Gerstein imagines how the very first drawing might have come to be. It's a delightful read that celebrates curiosity, creativity, and the magic of turning imagination into art. After you finish the story, grab some paper and crayons—you might just be inspired to create your own "first drawing" together!
