Dungeons and Drama

by Kristy Boyce

I picked up this book because of its adorable cover art, and ended up loving it so much I immediately read the next one. This YA romance is a great low-stakes February read. Riley is so passionate about theater that she steals her mom’s car to see a musical, and her punishment is working after school at her dad’s gaming store. There, she meets Nathan, and they strike a deal: he covers her shifts if she flirts with him to make his crush jealous. Riley soon finds herself pulled into his Dungeons & Dragons group and realizes their interests might not be so different after all. You will love it.

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse
by Charlie Mackesy
I recommend The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy. This graphic novel centers around a boy, lost and looking for home, as he meets and befriends the other titular animal characters. Together, they find that home is not a place, but something far greater. With themes of friendship, kindness, and resilience, this book is perfect for any age. For a quick but life-changing read, give this one a try! Fair warning: a box of tissues on standby is recommended.
