Hello Library Friends,

Put Family Reading at the Top of Your Holiday List This Year!

As the days grow shorter and winter’s chill encourages us to settle into warm, cozy spaces, it’s easy for family reading routines to slip away. The holiday season is wonderfully festive—but also incredibly busy. Between planning gatherings, traveling, shopping, and juggling winter break activities, many families feel stretched thin.

Yet this time of year offers a unique opportunity to pause, reconnect, and be intentional about the moments that matter.

Reading together as a family is one of the simplest and most joyful ways to nurture togetherness. It requires no special equipment, no elaborate planning, and no perfect conditions—just a book and a shared story. Prioritizing reading during the holidays not only adds warmth and meaning to the season, but also builds positive habits that can carry into the new year and beyond.

Your O’Fallon Public Library family hopes your next family adventure is one for the books! Let us help you write your next chapter—we can’t wait to see you at the library.

Happy Holidays!

Letters to Santa
The O’Fallon Public Library elves are back and ready to help kids send their letters to Santa! Children can handwrite a letter and drop it into the special mailbox in Youth Services, or take a photo of their letter and email it to youthservices@ofpl.info. All letters must be submitted by Wednesday, December 10th. Santa and his elves will send a postcard reply before Christmas!
Owl About Town
Owlfred swooped into O’Fallon’s Downtown District just as the holiday lights flickered on, casting a warm glow over the historic storefronts. Drawn by the cheer, he fluttered down to the bright red Caboose, a beloved landmark and gathering place. He traced its familiar lines with his eyes, imagining the many stories it has witnessed. Excitement shimmered through the rails as December would bring An Evening with Santa and Santa at the Station, magical events sure to fill O’Fallon Station and all of downtown with holiday wonder.
