Hello everyone,

GivingTuesday is coming up, and I wanted to share how it supports one of our favorite programs: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, hundreds of O’Fallon kids receive a free book in the mail each month, helping families build a love of reading from the very beginning. If you’d like to learn more or support the work, you can visit ofpl.info/donate. In this season of thanks, we’re grateful for every bit of community encouragement and support.

Murder by Cheesecake

by Rachel Ekstrom Courage

Picture it: Miami, 1980s. Rose Nylund is busy planning a traditional St. Olaf wedding for her cousin when chaos erupts—a body is discovered face-down in the hotel freezer, ruining a perfectly good cheesecake. The victim turns out to be a former date of Dorothy’s, instantly making her the prime suspect.
Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia team up to untangle the mystery and clear Dorothy’s name, facing plenty of hilarious and hair-raising moments along the way. Murder by Cheesecake combines Golden Girls–style wit and charm with the intrigue of a classic whodunit, making it a fun and engaging read.

The Giving Tree
by Shel Silverstein
This book has meant something to me at every age of my life. As a child, I loved how simple and sweet it was. Now, as an adult and a mom, I feel the deeper message about love, giving, and how we care for the people in our lives — sometimes so much that we lose pieces of ourselves in the process. It’s a story that hits differently depending on where you are in life, and its meaning only deepens with age. The Giving Tree is gentle, emotional, and unforgettable… a book I’ll always carry with me. It’s one of the few children’s books I still can’t read without tearing up.
