Hello Library Friends,

As we approach Veteran’s Day and the season of thankfulness, I want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to all past and present members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Your courage, dedication, and service inspire us every day. This special day reminds us to reflect on the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms and to share with our children the importance of honoring those who serve.

Please join us at the library Tuesday, November 11 at 2:00 PM in the Community Room for a family-friendly Veteran’s Day program. We’re honored to welcome two special guests—both veterans—who will share personal stories, read a book about Veteran’s Day, and answer questions from the audience.

Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy stories, a craft activity, light refreshments, and a meaningful community celebration. This event is free and open to all ages. No library card is required.

We look forward to coming together to honor our veterans and celebrate as a community.

Owl About Town
Owlfred glided down to the O’Fallon Veterans’ Monument, where fifteen granite pillars gleamed in the autumn sun, and the gentle splash of fountains filled the air with peace. He paused before the names etched in stone, each telling a story of service and courage. After visiting the kiosk and reflecting on the photos and biographies, he thought about the new names soon to join this living tribute to O’Fallon’s gratitude. With a soft hoot and wings tucked close, Owlfred felt the warmth of a town united in remembrance, respect, and hope.

Girl On A Motorcycle
by Amy Novesky
Girl on a Motorcycle is a lyrical picture book inspired by the true story of Anne-France Dautheville, the first woman to ride a motorcycle solo around the world. With poetic language and breathtaking artwork, it celebrates the thrill of the open road, the beauty of the world she explores, the kindness of strangers, and the fearless spirit of a woman determined to follow her own path.
