Hello,

September is National Library Card Signup Month, and we need your help to spread the word! Having a library card is like having a passport to endless possibilities—access to books, movies, digital resources, and so much more.

Already a proud cardholder? Awesome! Now's the perfect time to invite friends, family, and neighbors to join the library community.
Share the joy of reading and learning by encouraging others to sign up for their own library card. It’s quick and easy.  You can even apply from the comfort of home by visiting ofpl.info/howdoi.

Want to learn more? Check out all the details about Library Card Signup Month on our website.

Let’s work together to make our library community stronger than ever!

Traci's Pick:

The Invited
by Jennifer McMahon

In search of a simpler life, Helen and Nate leave suburbia to build their dream home on forty-four acres of rural land. As they begin their project, Helen, a former history teacher, becomes engrossed in the dark legend of Hattie Breckenridge, who lived and died there a century ago. The house soon turns into a place of menace, drawing its owners and neighbors into a web of danger and unfinished business.

Sharon's Pick:

Where I Come From
by Rick Bragg

While shelving books, I found this gem by Rick Bragg and was hooked after a few pages. His collection of columns captures the essence of Southern life, evoking memories of childhood, favorite dishes, and unforgettable relatives. Stories like "My Affair with Tupperware" and "The Talker" made me chuckle and reminisce. Where I Come From is a delightful mix of humor and nostalgia that feels like going home.

What kind of music do you like? Almost anything if it does not include a tambourine or an accordion.

If you could get rid of one month out of the year, which month would it be?

November—I am not wild about traditional Thanksgiving food since I am required to live a gluten free lifestyle.

If you could speak any language, what would it be?

Danish! Copenhagen is at the top of my bucket list.

What fictional book world would you be a part of?

Washington Irving’s,“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” But only if I can keep my head!

Other than a great selection of books, what is something our library offers that you find exceptional?  A space and a place for anyone and everyone.
