Dear Library Community,

As we embrace the holiday season and welcome the new year, it’s only natural to reflect on the past year and to set some goals for the year ahead. One of our goals is to improve your user experience. With that, you may have already noticed our new online catalog. This catalog not only pulls results from all of our physical items, but also from our digital ones like Libby, Hoopla, and CloudLibrary. It groups like items together for less “digging” for what you are really looking for.

We will also be launching a new library website in mid-January. The address is the same, ofpl.info. We’ve streamlined the navigation and have included more accessibility features to better serve all of our patrons. I know change always has the potential to be frustrating, so bear with us as we roll out these changes and iron out any wrinkles that pop up.

Warm regards,

Ryan Johnson

OFPL Director

The Bone Houses

by Emily Lloyd-Jones

This spellbinding dark fantasy is set in an ancient forest, where a young gravedigger and a secretive mapmaker confront a dark curse that resurrects the dead. With rich world-building and compelling characters, it's a captivating journey into a realm where life and death intertwine. There’s also a goat!

Layover Land: A Novel

by Gabby Noone

I love how Noone set up Purgatory to be an airport. It is a fantastic setting to represent the time between real life and the afterlife. Just like an actual airport: the amenities aren't great but not terrible, and you're always a little bit uncomfortable. The timeline of the main character's death is revealed just a little bit at a time and keeps you hooked!!
